Hello thulme,

Glad to have you message us here. QuickBooks is a hassle-free program that simplifies the way you manage your accounting. I'll be glad to point you in the right direction so you can achieve your QuickBooks goals. Recording your transactions the right way is a good exercise for keeping your books accurate.

Based on what you've described, I see you're following the right steps for recording the transfer. To ensure accuracy in your books, I recommend contacting an accounting professional to get expert advice on this. Doing this will help prevent any future discrepancies in your books. You can also reach out to accounting professionals on our site using this link here. Otherwise, here's how to record a transfer in QB Desktop:

  1. Select “Banking| Transfer Funds” from the Menu Bar.
  2. Enter the date of the funds transfer into the “Date” field.
  3. Then select the bank account to transfer funds from by using the “Transfer Funds From” drop-down.
  4. Then select the name of the account to transfer the funds into by using the “Transfer Funds To” drop-down.
  5. Enter the amount of the transfer into the “Transfer Amount” field.
  6. Then click the “Save & Close” button to record the funds transfer and close the window.

I'll also leave this question here so other accounting professional members can chime in and share their expert advice. Let me know if you have other questions, I'm here to assist.
