Users on different versions

We just updated and Admin is running R7_115 while other users can only update to R7_89.  Is this okay?

Users on different versions

Hello AmandaRobbins,

I like your initiative to make sure each of your users is able to continue accessing the QuickBooks Desktop company file after the admin's station was updated. I'm happy to go over this with you to ensure that everyone is able to continue working in QuickBooks Enterprise.

When it comes to opening and using company files in QuickBooks Desktop, it's important that all users are on the same year, edition, and release of the program. This article explains these kinds of things in more detail: Company file compatibility with QuickBooks Desktop when upgrading

In your instance, because you're each on an R7 release, you should be fine even though the numbers following the underscore are different. Those numbers often relate to specific updates, such as an update to a tool like File Doctor, which don't impact reading the company file. Another article that may be of use to your team is the Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release article.

I also recommend getting in touch with support since you mention the other users are unable to update their workstations. Discussing with a support agent about why they're unable to could result in a solution that allows them to update. This way, you can be sure everyone will continue to have access as future releases are issued for the program..

Check out the Intuit QuickBooks Desktop software support policies to see how you can get in touch with someone who can help work through this with you.

Wishing you the best!
