Welcome to Community! Categorizing and matching your transactions in QuickBooks Online, is an essential step in preparing to reconcile your accounts. I would be glad to provide some insight here!
When you review your downloaded transactions, you'll note that QuickBooks keeps them in the For review tab, and suggests a category for each transaction. You will only select the option to Add the transaction when you've confirmed the suggested category is correct. The transaction will then be moved to the Categorized tab. In addition, you may prefer to set up Bank Rules. QuickBooks will automatically categorize the transactions for you based on the rules you create.
