Hi helene-jfrcpa-ca.

 

Being able to track the accounts that your journal entries go to is key to making sure everything is correct. I'd be happy to help you find the account to remove.

 

To find the account in question the first step would be to go to your chart of accounts and select the show inactive option. This can be done by going to Accounting>Chart of Accounts>Gear icon just above Action>Check show inactive. If the account is still not showing then it was never created in your chart of accounts. I also recommend deleting the Journal Entry and doing a new one to the correct accounts. You can delete the journal entry by following these steps:

 

  1. Select Settings ⚙️ and then Chart of accounts.
  2. Find the account you created the journal entry for. Then select Account history.
  3. Find the journal entry in the account register. The word "Journal" should be in the Ref No. or Type column.
  4. Select the journal entry to expand the view.
  5. Select Delete.
  6. Select Yes to confirm.
