How to export partially collapsed financial statements to Excel?

QB allows export with fully collapsed and fully expanded views, but if I collapse some grouped accounts (A/R) and leave others in full detail (bank debt, investments, etc...), QB hides some but not others. I have about 50% of the groupings collapsed, but it still exports with 90% of the detail. Anyone have experience and a solution for this issue?

How to export partially collapsed financial statements to Excel?

Hi chrisgreenwood-a,

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community!  QuickBooks Online provides the ability to customize your reports, and print, or download them for your records.  I would be happy to provide some insight here.

When you're reviewing your financial statement, rather than collapsing some accounts, I recommend customizing the report to remove all zero amounts, to exclude the unnecessary rows.  You can do this by using the ▼ dropdown menu in the Show non-zero or active only field, then select Active for your Rows and Columns.

Should you require additional assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us outside of this forum. We would enjoy the opportunity to work with you personally, and ensure you're able to accomplish your QuickBooks goals without delay!

Feel free to reach back out with any other questions. We would be happy to help!
