I have an account detail report that does not pull the correct balance for activity in that account. I cannot justify the QB balance. How do I fix this?

This is a real estate agent who is deducted fees from his commission and he is also paid the HST of the house sale.  My transactions netted out to correct amount, but account detail report retrieves a completely different total, that I cannot justify.

Hello SylvieFB,

Welcome back to the Community. I'll be glad to assist with the issue you've described so you can continue to enjoy navigating the reports module.

Based on what you've described, I encourage you to reference the following variables that may be causing the discrepancies on your report:

  • Report dates: It's important to make sure your report dates include the transaction in question.
  • Cash vs Accrual: Since the report amounts can report differently due to the accounting method, I recommend checking the method you're using on your reports. You can change this setting while running your reports by selecting the Cash or Accrual radio buttons under Accounting method.

In case this issue is being caused by browser-related issues, I recommend clearing cache and cookies. Clearing cache and cookies helps with fixing most browser-display/functionality issues. You can do this by following the steps in this article: Clear Cache and Cookies. If you're still having issues after verifying the info above, I recommend contacting our support team so they can take a closer look at the issue.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out here. I'll be here.
