Thanks for reaching out about your chart of accounts. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to assist you in keeping track of sales and expenses so you know the profitability of your company. I can provide some assistance with account numbers.
To Activate account numbers, go to the Gear icon, then Account and settings. Select the Advanced section, then beside the Chart of accounts header, make sure Enable account numbers is set to On.
Once that setting is active, you can then add an account number to an account by going to the Accounting tab, then Chart of accounts. Find an account you want to give a number, then click on the Drop-down arrow in the Actions column to Edit. In this box, there will be a field that you can add a number of your choice. Don't forget to save.
