How do I see sales by product on the Income statement?
The Profit and Loss report is an awesome way to review your income and expenses for various reporting periods. This report is also called the Income Statement. I'd be happy to explain how you can review the total sales for each of your products/services using the P&L report.
You'll want to take advantage of the customization options in order to review the sales total for each of your products. I'll explain the steps below.
1. Click the Reports tab, then select Profit & Loss.
2. Click Customize.
3. Select the Filter drop-down menu.
4. Check off the box next to Product/Service.
5. Click the drop-down menu for Product/Service and select one of your products.
6. Click Run report.
Repeat this process for each of your products, making sure to un-check the last product when you want to review a new one. The P&L report won't label the Sales total for each product you select, so you'll have to manually take note of which product you're selecting.
