Hi there ericahemsworth,

This is a great question and I'm excited that you're considering QuickBooks Payments with your QuickBooks Online account. It's a great way to easily accept customer payments online by giving them the option of entering their credit card details. I'll help you get familiar with how this feature works and what kinds of transactions you can process.

QuickBooks Payments is available for Canadian currency transactions, and the Payments system processes Canadian currency Visa, Mastercard, and Discover cards. Those card types can also be used through Apple Pay with this feature. The following article gives you more details about how QuickBooks Payments works in Canada: QuickBooks Online Payments overview

In light of this, the option to choose Payments isn't available on multi-currency invoices, including USD, nor can the Payments system process US currency credit cards. To give your customers the option to pay online with other currencies, I recommend considering third-party apps found in the Apps tab of your QuickBooks account or another service provider outside of the program. While this won't offer the exact same options of being able to click through the invoice to pay, it will make sure that you're able to accept payments from your customers regardless of their currency.

At QuickBooks, we're always looking for ways we can expand upon what the program already offers, and this is also true of QuickBooks Payments. This is a great opportunity for feedback, which you can leave by following the steps in this article: How do I submit feedback?

I'll be here should you like more clarification about any of this. Enjoy the rest of your day!
