Customer lists

Something new popped up when generating the Customer Aged Summary today. Beside the name of some of the customers is a number in brackets. This has never happened before and it is not beside all customer names. Can anyone tell me what is happening here?

Hi there, @Tuter.

Let's troubleshoot your QuickBooks Desktop to ensure all your data is accurately displayed.

The verify tool finds the most common issues in a company file and the rebuild tool fixes them. Check out this article for more detailed steps: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.

Here's how:

  1. Choose Window then Close All.
  2. Go to File then Utilities
  3. Select Verify Data. If you see:
    1. QuickBooks detected no problems with your data," no further action is needed.
    2. Your data has lost integrity," indicates there is data damage in the file.  Continue to the steps below to Rebuild Data to correct the problem.

Next, you'll need to rebuild your company file data to fix the damages if there are any. Head to File, Utilities then Rebuild Data.

If you have additional concerns in QBDT, please feel free to leave a reply. We're always ready to help.
