I deleted two test invoices when trying to solve an issue with tech support. Now when I make new invoices it always skips by two numbers and I have to manually type the number. Any ideas how to fix this? Thank you!
Hi there,
Since this is your first post in the Community. I'd like to give you a warm welcome!
Based on your description, I notice you're taking good advantage of the Custom Transaction Numbers feature in QuickBooks. Since the numbering system in QBO works chronologically, your invoice number will continue from where you last left off. Say the last invoice you created was #30, the next one will automatically become #31 by default.
Let me know if this helps. If you need further assistance, don't hesitate to reach out to our support team using this link.
Hello. Yes that's the way it should work but unfortunately not. As I said, I created two test invoices which I then deleted... and ever since then QB skips two numbers when I create a new invoice. For example my next invoice should be #286, but if I create new it sets the number at #288 instead
I see what you're saying. When was the last time you cleared cache and cookies on your browser? Doing this will help fix most issues the site may be having. Here's an article which shows you how to do that: How to clear Cache and Cookies. Give this a try and if you're still having issues, I recommend contacting our support team using this link.
