Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. I'm excited to see that you're using QuickBooks Self-Employed to manage your transactions and business information. It's a great, easy-to-use tool that can be used on-the-go with the app or via a browser. I'm here to help you make sure you have the options for creating and saving invoices in the program.
There are a few options for saving your invoice in the Self-Employed program and you can choose from them depending on your needs. If the invoice isn't ready to be sent off, you can save it as a draft by clicking the down arrow on the green button and choosing Save as draft when using a browser. In the app, this is done by clicking Save draft. When you're ready for it to be logged in your books, the Save and send button in the browser or the Email button in app are the options you'll want to use.
For instances where you mean you don't want the customer to receive the invoice by email, you can consider entering your own email or a dummy email instead. This will allow you to fully save the invoice while still going through the motions the program needs to do so.
Since QuickBooks Self-Employed is a cloud software, having access to the Internet when using the service is needed in order to properly log your information. When you're in a situation where you're not around an Internet connection, I recommend waiting to log the invoice until you are.
