Invoicing for time and materials

HI - I enter time and materials for a contracting tagged to specific jobs - to bill I create invoice and select "add time/cost"  it pulls all the time and materials (pre-tax) into the invoice   //   My issue is when I create and income reports such as profit and loss or income statement it does not include the amount on the created invoices for the materials - Why?  When i do my HST return i checked and it does give the right amount for HST collected but the income doesn't reflect this

It is for a company that already had QB up and running before i started so maybe a setting ?

Invoicing for time and materials

Hi RidgebackAmy,

Thanks for reaching out here.  QuickBooks Online provides the reports you need to see what matters most.  I'd be glad to assist!

When your income and expenses aren't visible on the Profit and Loss report, it could be due to a few factors.  You'll want to ensure you're entering the correct Report period, followed by the Accounting method.  If you have the report set to the Cash method, it will only show income and expenses for transactions that have been completed.  By setting it to the Accrual method, you'll see all income and expenses for pending and completed transactions.  For more information about missing transactions in the Profit and Loss report, click here.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach back out.  We're always happy to help!
