Query to have a custom field in sales order

Is there any possibility that we can add a customized column in QB in a sales order, where the user can put as sold margin % - which can then be pulled up in the sales orders dashboard?

Query to have a custom field in sales order

We can add a customized column for the sold margin when creating a sales order and manually input the details, @Basanti. However, this column will not show in the Sales Order Fulfillment Worksheet

Before we proceed, I would like to verify whether you meant the Sales Order Fulfillment Worksheet when you mentioned sales order dashboard?

To proceed, let's add the sold margin column in a sales order.

  1. Go to the Lists tab.
  2. Double-click the Custom Sales order.
  3. Hit Additional customization.

  4. Choose Columns.
  5. Tick the two checkboxes for Other 1 and enter the name of the column or use Sold Margin.

  6. Click OK.

You will then see the additional column for the Sold Margin. However, this will not show in the Sales Order Fulfillment Worksheet. Thus, I strongly urge you to share your thoughts with our software engineers. They carefully examine customer feedback, especially when determining how to improve QuickBooks.

  1. Go to the Help option.
  2. Select the Send Feedback Online option.
  3. Choose the Product Suggestion option. A pop-up window displays.
  4. Type in your feedback suggestion.
  5. Click the Send Feedback button. The feedback is sent.

In the meantime, you can run an Open Sales Orders by Customer report and customize the report to show the Sold Margin column.

Please know that you can always comment below if you have any additional questions about managing sales orders in QuickBooks Desktop.
