Sales tax is an inevitable part of running your small business. It's important that you're using a tool that will make this simple and straightforward, saving you time and effort in your bookkeeping. I'll help you set up your sales tax, or make changes if you've already set it up.
The first thing I'd recommend is to use the desktop version of the program. The QuickBooks mobile app is limited in capabilities, and the taxes section must be accessed on a browser. If you're using the QuickBooks desktop app for Mac, you'll want to ensure everything is running properly by clicking the Help icon > Reset App Data.
To set up sales tax, click the Taxes tab on the left navigation menu, then click Set up Sales Tax.
