Quebec QST

Why arent we able to add QST on invoices in self-employed like we can in the business quickbooks. Should it be just a matter of releasing the option in self-employed? It work well for my business account! And it's not a tax on a tax anymore it should be as simple as other provinces; HST 5%+QST 9,975%

Hello Jacques_of_all_trades (clever username!),

This is a great question and I can help explain what's going on. It's great to hear that you've also used other versions of QuickBooks to manage your business finances. When it comes to QuickBooks Self-Employed, Quebec sales taxes aren't currently supported in the product. Read the Sales Tax overview for QuickBooks Self-Employed to learn more.

I know it's important to be able to add this tax to your invoices and want to assure you our product development team is aware of this need for our customers. They're working to implement QST into the program as we speak, but it's not quite there yet. I don't have an ETA I can give you at this time. In the meantime, QuickBooks Online may be better suited for your business so you can make sure your sales tax is calculating as it should.

I'm here if you have more questions. :)

Quebec QST

Hi,

Can Quickbooks online and self-employed share the same data ? Is there a way to have quickbooks online provide for free while we wait for self-employed to work correctly for Québec employers ?

Thank you.

Hi there,

Thanks for joining the thread. I'd be happy to clarify this for you.

QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Self-Employed are two entirely separate products and don't exist in the same database. This means that there's no cross-over between the information you input into a QuickBooks Online account and Self-Employed. There's also no way to transfer the data from one software to another.

Since you're from Quebec, I'd recommend looking into QuickBooks Online for your business needs. We offer programs in French, and the ability to track Quebec Sales Tax is made easy. Although not free, there's always great promotional offers and discounts advertised on our website here. Today's deal is part of a 4-day price drop, meaning you'll save 60% off for the first 6 months. Act fast though, because these offers can change quickly!

Also on the website you can explore each of our plans and compare their features. We've designed three plans, each suited to fit your business needs. Take a look at the comparison chart on the website and let me know if you've got specific questions, or if you'd like a recommendation.

Have a great day!

Hello,

The link you send us to appears to be intuit quickbooks, not Quickbooks online.

In any case, it is one year after this post, and I still don't see Quebec Sales Tax implemented. Have you just decided not to support it?  This should be noted front and center on your sign up page so we don't waste time creating an account, setting up, and then go to enter sales tax only to find it was a complete waste of our time.

Hey DaveYVR,

Thank you for following up. I am sharing your feedback with the team. At the moment, QST tracking isn't supported in QuickBooks Self-Employed, but it's included in QuickBooks Online's sales tax centre. For additional help with this, don't hesitate to reach out to our QuickBooks Self-Employed support team

I'm here for you. Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
