Thanks for reaching out with this question. I can appreciate wanting to make sure you're choosing the correct sales tax codes when recording your transactions. When you're unsure, it's always best to check in with an accountant or the CRA as they'll have more information about those kinds of details and be able to accurately guide you.
That being said, when I pull up QuickBooks Online's Credit Card Credit feature, it doesn't differentiate between sales tax on purchases and sales tax on sales like a journal entry would. Rather, it simply shows the tax codes to choose from. Here's how I'm seeing that.
- Click the Create + icon.
- Choose Credit Card Credit.
- Fill in the details as needed.
- Click the Sales Tax column drop-down menu.
