Thank you for reaching out about your invoices. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help you keep track of taxes on sales and expenses so you know the amount to declare on your next filing. I can provide some information about setting up taxes.
The first step to do if not already done yet would be to do the sales tax setup. Go to the Taxes tab, then, if prompted to set up sales tax, follow the steps shown on that menu to set up tax for your home province. If you've set up sales tax, but just not yet for the province in question, then go to the Taxes tab, then Manage Sales Tax. Click on Add tax, then select Start tracking in a new province. Choose the province in the drop-down menu, then if prompted to specify more info, enter the information about your filing in that province.
Once the setup is complete, to add taxes to an invoice, or another transaction, in each line item, you'll need to select a tax code from the drop-down in the tax column, in this case, HST. Don't forget to save the transaction.
