Hello jane-stoker-paul,
It's a pleasure to see you in Community. Welcome! QuickBooks Online provides the reports you need, to ensure your sales tax is accurately recorded before filing your return to the associated agency. I would be happy to help!
To view a detailed look at the taxes you owe, I recommend the Taxable Sales Summary. This will show you a summary of your taxable and non-taxable sales, plus the total sales tax you collected from customers. Here's how to run the report;
1. From the left menu, open Taxes, then Sales tax
2. Select the tile for the tax agency
3. Click on the ▼ dropdown menu on Reports
4. Select Taxable sales summary
5. Review the total tax amounts you collected from your customers. These amounts will include federal, regional, and local tax rates (such as city, county, and/or province)
To see a more detailed look at what you owe, select any tax amount. A transaction report opens that shows how much tax you charged in each sale, and also shows you more information, such as customers, transaction dates, and the tax rate.
Feel free to reach back out, if you have any other questions. We would be glad to assist!
