"Please choose GST/HST for this transaction" Message when Categorizing Bank Transactions

Hi there

When I begin to categorize my bank transactions, I must select a tax % for each expense

I'd like to confirm what I'm actually doing by selecting 13% Ontario tax for these transactions - does this field indicate that I paid 13% on that transaction?

It's a pleasure to see you in Community.  Welcome!  QuickBooks Online automatically matches your transactions, so you can reconcile your accounts effortlessly.  It's important to ensure the items are recorded accurately for a smooth process.  I'd be glad to help!

 

When categorizing your transactions, you'll need to include applicable sales tax.  This will let QuickBooks find an exact match with your records.  Sales tax recorded on your bills and expenses would indicate the amount you paid on that purchase.
