Intuit launches new QuickBooks Payroll tools and services to help UK businesses pay their teams with confidence
New payroll tools converge on Intuit’s all-in-one platform, creating a single, fully integrated Intuit payroll stack
AI payroll summaries flag key run-to-run changes in seconds, helping teams catch discrepancies and pay with certainty
London, UK - 8 June 2026
Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU), the global financial technology platform that makes Intuit TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, Mailchimp and Intuit Enterprise Suite, has today released a suite of new payroll products in the UK, designed to bring payroll, workforce and financial management closer together on Intuit’s AI-driven expert platform to serve the needs of businesses at every stage of growth.
As part of Intuit’s strategic focus to help businesses streamline operations and shift from disconnected workflows, Intuit has launched QuickBooks Payroll Premium and QuickBooks Payroll Elite to deliver a more unified payroll experience, from simpler payroll requirements to advanced workforce management. This brings together accounting, payroll, and workforce data into a single, connected flow across Intuit’s all-in-one platform, putting real-time, end-to-end visibility at leaders’ fingertips so they can make faster, smarter decisions that enhance business performance.
Built around what UK employers value most in payroll tools; confidence in compliance and reduced administration, the new plans strengthen Intuit’s fully-owned UK payroll proposition, giving customers the flexibility to move between products as their requirements change. All payroll plans benefit from Intuit’s faster feature delivery, an around-the-clock global engineering organisation, and insights built from serving millions of customers around the world, leading to the development of a best in class payroll solution.
QuickBooks Payroll Premium introduces new capabilities, including built-in integration with QuickBooks Time, for time tracking, and a new ‘job costing’ feature to help businesses track profitability. For more established businesses who need to manage project profitability, mobile teams, and client billing, QuickBooks Payroll Elite builds on Premium with advanced tools such as geofencing and estimates-vs-actuals reporting, supporting businesses with project-based work, mobile teams and other complex operational practices.
Built with AI automation at its core, and introducing new AI features
To provide a concise view of all data changes for each payroll run, Intuit has introduced a Generative AI–powered summary tool across all plans, which automatically highlights what has changed in each payroll run compared to the previous one. This feature leverages existing payroll data and compares with past payrolls to generate an AI summary, helping administrators to spot errors, and correct discrepancies before the payroll is processed.
“Payroll can be time consuming and complex, presenting a high stakes administrative burden on employers. Errors often have big consequences and can affect employee trust, not to mention lead to penalties. This launch reflects our long-term commitment to building native payroll products on Intuit’s all in one AI-driven platform, giving UK businesses increased confidence in their payroll practices whilst significantly reducing the manual workload. The three payroll plans offer a multi-tiered, future-fit solution that aligns with how modern businesses grow, and how we plan to serve them over time.” said Ciarán Quilty, Senior Vice President of International at Intuit.
QuickBooks’ payroll plans help reduce manual processes and duplication for businesses at every stage of growth:
An easy entry point for first time employers: QuickBooks Payroll Core is a simple payroll solution designed as an easy entry point for UK businesses. Built for director-only companies and first-time employers with basic payroll needs, Core automates calculations, HMRC submissions and pension requirements, helping businesses run payroll with confidence and efficiency from day one.
For growing small businesses: New QuickBooks Payroll Premium is the mainstream choice for growing small businesses that need more than basic payroll. It combines core payroll functionality with employee self-service and access to product support, creating a safety net as teams expand and payroll complexity increases.
For complex or advanced payroll needs: New QuickBooks Payroll Elite is a comprehensive payroll and workforce solution for businesses with complex or advanced needs. Designed for larger organisations, mobile teams and project-based work, Elite adds advanced features and capabilities to help businesses manage complexity with confidence.
These new plans will replace QuickBooks Advanced Payroll over time, with a migration route for existing customers.
