How to Import Your QuickBooks Desktop Data Into QuickBooks Online

QuickBooks allows customers to switch from its desktop version to the online version easily. To import your QuickBooks Desktop data into QuickBooks Online, take the following steps:

  1. In QuickBooks Desktop, click Company in the menu and select Export Company File to QuickBooks Online.

  2. Enter your QuickBooks Online login credentials on the QuickBooks Online login screen.

  3. Choose whether you want to import your inventory data.

  4. Select the company you want to import the data to in the drop-down list, or choose the Create New Online Company option to create a new one.

  5. Click the Continue button.

  6. Click the OK, Got It button.

  7. You’ll receive an email when the import is complete.
