Canadian celebrity entrepreneurs and visionaries in business, arts, and sciences like Sarah Richardson and Dr. Roberta Bondar will take the main stage

TORONTO, ON – November 15, 2017– Intuit QuickBooks, the world’s leading online accounting software, today announced the first-ever Canadian QuickBooks Connect, the company’s flagship event that brings together small businesses, accountants and developers to connect, learn and be inspired.  The event is taking place in Toronto December 4-6, following stops in San Jose, Sydney and London.  QuickBooks Connect Toronto will showcase new technologies and applications from Intuit and its robust developer ecosystem to help the country’s entrepreneurs turn business insights into action and drive long-term growth.

The event’s main stage features entrepreneurs and business leaders who have vision, passion, and pursued their dreams. The initial lineup that will join the main stage are:

  • Sarah Richardson, Founder of Sarah Richardson Design, Entrepreneur & TV Host. Sarah Richardson is known around the world for dramatic transformations that turn ordinary spaces into magazine-worthy rooms with an incredible wow factor. Sarah is the host and co-producer of eight HGTV lifestyle series seen in over 100 countries where she shares her practical, endearing and inspiring approach to décor and design with viewers. Her shows include: Design Inc., Sarah’s House, Sarah 101, and Sarah’s Rental Cottage. Her newest show, Sarah Off the Grid premiered fall 2017.
  • Roberta Bondar, astronaut, physician, scientist and photographer: Dr. Roberta Bondar was the first Canadian woman to fly in space. An astronaut, physician, and photographer, Dr. Bondar expanded the horizons of millions when she joined the space shuttle Discovery for its 1992 mission. Dr. Bondar’s highly motivational talks — featuring her stunning photographs — focus on change, social responsibility, and our environment. Dr. Bondar served six years as Chancellor of Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario. She is an examiner for the Institute of Corporate Directors. Dr. Bondar has served as a Director on not-for-profit and publicly traded companies.

Breakout Sessions to Fuel Entrepreneurial Success

In addition to the main stage speakers, QuickBooks Connect will provide workshops and breakout sessions created specifically for the event’s diverse attendees, including small businesses, accountants, bookkeepers and developers.  Attendees can choose from up to 40 different sessions covering topics like finance, time management, entrepreneurship and more.

During a special accountant-focused day on December 4, accountants, bookkeepers and tax preparers will learn from industry experts from around the world about how to leverage the latest trends and technology to save time, grow their practices and power the prosperity of their clients.
