2FA codes - disable texted codes - use an Authenticator app only

With current security issues surrounding spoofing of phone numbers, and other methods, texted codes are no longer secure, and haven't been for some time.
Using the codes from a 2FA app on your phone/device/password manager are far superior, as they rely on the user normally having the device actually in their hands.

I would prefer to disable any texted codes, and instead leave the 2FA Authenticator app as the sole provider for codes.

I see no way to disable my cell phone receiving texted codes.

2FA codes - disable texted codes - use an Authenticator app only

Hi there,

Welcome to the Community. It's vital you get the support you need and I'll be glad to steer you in the right direction.

Here's how to turn of 2FA verification for your QB account:

  1. Sign into your Intuit account
  2. Choose Sign in & security and then select Two-step verification.
  3. From here you Turn off 2FA as needed.
  4. Follow any onscreen instructions to complete your request.

I encourage you to try this out and let me know how you make out. I'll be a message away in case you have other questions.

I think you misunderstand the problem.

I see what you're saying. Since the ability to disable text verification codes isn't available, I recommend sending feedback about this to our developers. You can send feedback by clicking on the Gear icon and looking for Feedback. In the meantime, here's a helpful article with more info on how to: Disable Two-step verification

You're welcome to ask other questions. I'm here to help.
