Change your business name, phone number, or address in QuickBooks Online

As a business owner, you may need to update your business name, phone number, or address in QuickBooks Online. Here's how to make these changes:

Step 1: Update your business name

1. Go to the Settings (gear icon) menu and select Account and settings. Select Company, then choose Edit in the Company name section. Enter the new name in the Company name field.
2. If the company's legal name is different from the company name you entered, enter the legal name in the Legal name field. Otherwise, check the Same as company name checkbox.
3. Enter or edit your Business Number (BN) in the field provided. Select Save, then select Done.

Step 2: Update your contact information

1. Go to the Settings (gear icon) menu and select Account and settings. Select Company, then select Edit in the Contact info section.
2. In the Company email field, enter a company email address that QuickBooks can use to contact you. If you use the same email address for your customers, select the Same as company email checkbox in the Customer-facing email field.
3. Enter a company phone number.
4. In the Website field, enter the URL of your company website. Select Save, then select Done.

Step 3: Update your address

1. Go to the Settings (gear icon) menu and select Account and settings. Select Company, then select Edit in the Address section. In the Company address field, enter the main address for your company.
2. In the Customer-facing address field, enter an address for your customers to use to contact you or send payments. Or, select the Same as company address checkbox if it is the same as the company address you entered.
3. In the Legal address field, enter the legal address you use when filing your company's taxes. Or, select the Same as company address checkbox if it is the same as the company address you entered. Select Save, then select Done.

Step 4: Troubleshooting issues

If you encounter any issues while changing your business name, phone number, or address, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take. Here are some common issues and their solutions:

• Issue: Your changes aren't saved.
  Solution: Make sure that you've entered all the necessary information and that there are no errors in the information.
• Issue: Your changes aren't appearing on invoices or other documents.
  Solution: Make sure you have filled out the Customer-facing email, Company phone, and Website fields, as this is the information that will appear on your sales forms.
• Issue: You're having trouble updating your business name.
  Solution: Make sure that your new business name is legally registered and that you've updated it with any relevant government agencies.
