Hi braithwaitebookk,
It's nice to see you in Community. Welcome! QuickBooks Online allows Clients to invite their Accountant's to their books two ways. I'd be happy to help you get your client onboard!
When a client sends an invitation, the best way is for them to click on the My Accountant tab on the left navigation bar. This will bring them to a page to invite you by entering the email address associated with your Accounting Firm. You'll receive the invitation and I always recommend, right clicking on it and opening it in a private or incognito browser. There are times when these can be somewhat finicky. The other way for a client to invite you is in the Manage Users section. There are two tabs in this section, one for Users on the account and one for Accountants. Every once in awhile an Accountant is mistakenly added as a user for which they can access the books, but wouldn't be equipped with the Accountant's tools. If you've been invited as a user and not the Accountant, this may cause the invitation to be unsuccessful based on the email address for your Firm as this is how you'll be accepting it.
To get you invited to your client's books successfully, I'd recommend having the client delete your invitation. Have them follow these steps:
1. Gear icon in the top right corner
2. Manage Users
3. Click on the Accountant tab
4. At the far right, click on the drop-down arrow and select Delete
Have them resend you the invitation from My Accountant tab as previously mentioned. Clear cache on your browser before accepting it from your email. Right click on the invitation and open it in a private/incognito window. This should resolve the issue and give you access to your client account.
If you require further assistance or have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out. We're happy to help!
If you are using QBO CA Accountant version, make sure your client is also using QBO CA version.
