At this time, there isn't a direct process which merges your Online account and the Desktop account. The good news is QuickBooks offers the flexibility of being able to export your data. Depending on the data you would've exported, you can sync it with the Online account from Desktop or vice versa. The article goes over the necessary steps needed for you to transfer your data.

You should not migrate data from QBD to your QBO account. It will overwrite your 16 months data in QBO. You may utilize a migration tool. ie. TPExporter for Desktop, TPImporter for Online
