My Quickbooks online, set to 3 hrs inactivity before signing out, signs me out early, despite activity and my computer not sleeping. Any one else having this happen?

The settings are to sign out after 3 hours of inactivity, it signs me out randomly and I lose whatever I was working on. My computer is set to never sleep so it's not that and I was active within the 3 hour period. This is not the first time it's happened.

Thanks for contacting us here. It's important you get the support you need so you can continue to navigate the program with ease. 

 

It's important to make sure you've adjusted the setting for inactivity correctly using the steps below:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Go to the Advanced tab.
  4. Click the pencil icon to edit the Other Preferences section.
  5. Set the hour to Sign Me Out If Inactive for.
  6. Click Save and then Done.

In case you experience issues after saving the settings above, I recommend clearing cache and cookies on your browser. Clearing cache and cookies helps with fixing most browser issues. You can do this by following the steps in this article: Clear Cache and Cookies. I encourage you to give this a try on your browser when you get a chance.

I did in fact state upfront that I had it set to 3 hours. Clearing the cache doesn't help - it's not my first time having this happen. I see in other community groups that it's not a new issue, just one that hasn't been fixed.
