Is there a way for QBO to send me email alert when it can't login to my bank account due to password change?

Hello pilobond,

Thanks for reaching out! Knowing exactly why your bank feeds are giving you trouble in QuickBooks Online is the ideal way to sort things out and get those transactions downloading again. I'm happy to go over the ways QuickBooks alerts you to what's causing problems in the bank feed.

When there are issues with downloading bank feed information from your financial institution's website, QuickBooks typically produces an error message with a numbered code. Those numbered codes are key for determining what's going on.

To use your example, when the login information has been changed on the bank's website, you'll likely see error code (103) in QuickBooks Online. This code means the login information entered into the program doesn't match what you enter into your banking website. You can learn more about that code from this article: Fix banking error 103

Whenever you see a code, feel free to search it in community to learn what steps can be taken to resolve it and get back in business.

If that's not quite what you're looking for with your request, feel free to leave feedback for our product developers. We love hearing from customers like you to learn the ways we can enhance what QuickBooks Online has to offer. This article explains how to submit feedback: How do I submit feedback?

Let me know if you have further questions. I'm here to help!

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. However, this does not answer my question.

I have no issue fixing the problem once I know that there is a problem.

The question is if I can get an email alert when this happens so I can take an timely action. At this point I just realized there were missing entries last year because QBO was not getting feeds and I didn't know about it.

I hope this clarifies my question.

I appreciate the clarification and I can see how this situation would have caused some problems when it comes to bookkeeping. The error messages I've mentioned should appear as soon as an issue occurs with QuickBooks' connection to the banking website. This means as soon as you go to the Banking tab, you should see it under the list of connected accounts before getting to the For Review section where you would be sorting your transactions in the feed. Let me know if that makes sense.

Did you give the feedback option I mentioned a shot? There isn't an email option right now, but with your feedback, there could be in the future. Don't be afraid to leave some comments in that feature. :)
