can't connect to td bank

I'm here to keep the process of connecting bank accounts in QuickBooks Online (QBO) easy and simple, newcanadiancleaning.

I would like to confirm whether you encountered an error while attempting to link your bank account in QBO. If you are unable to connect because your financial institution is not listed, it could be due to specific issues related to the linking process. Please consider the following criteria that may be affecting your ability to connect:

  • Your bank has multiple names on our list. Make sure you have selected the correct listing or have tried all possible links. Search by the banking sign-in URL to ensure you are using the correct listing.
  • Your bank does not connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs business accounts).
  • Your bank is not a participating financial institution.

Your bank's URL will be automatically updated in QuickBooks as long as it supports an online banking connection. To ensure we link to the correct account, let’s start by logging into your bank's website. Once you are signed in, please copy the bank's URL and use it to search for and link the appropriate account in QuickBooks. Here’s how to proceed:

  1. From the left menu, click Transactions and choose Bank transactions.
  2. On the Banking page, select the Link account.
  3. In the Search field, enter the bank's URL.
  4. Select your bank. If you see multiple options, you may have to repeat these steps to find the correct one.
  5. Enter your bank login on your bank's website, then select Continue.

In the meantime, if the option in the dropdown menu is grayed out, please try logging into your QBO account using a private or incognito window. An accumulated cache in your browser can sometimes lead to unexpected behavior with the application, which might be causing your bank connection issue. Here are some keyboard shortcuts for opening a private or incognito window:

  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Note that you will press the Keys all together and there will be a pop-up window that will show, that would be the private browser.

If you see TD Bank on the list, please return to your regular browser and clear its cache. This process will remove any outdated or corrupted internet files that may be causing issues while you browse. Alternatively, you might consider trying other supported browsers for a better experience when working with QBO.

In case you're still unable to link your bank account, you can manually upload your bank transactions to your QBO account as a workaround. To do this, you'll need to download the entries from your bank's website in a CSV file format. Then, import these transactions once ready.

Please keep me updated on your progress in resolving this issue. I want to ensure that your bank is successfully and permanently connected to QuickBooks.
