Credit Card Fees Assigned to Customer

Hi there, with QuickBooks Online and the Pay Online feature is it possible to assign any credit card fees to the customer if they decide to use a credit card for payment?

Thanks for reaching out to us here and Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! QuickBooks Online is a great program that can help make managing your business smoother. I would be happy to provide some information.

 

There isn't a way to automatically add Credit card fees to an invoice. However, you can manually add one. All you'd need to do is create a service item and then add it as a line to your invoices. Here is an article that will help you create a service fee item.

Thank you for the quick answer! Is there any plan to add this in the future? The concern is often times we do not know if the customer is going to want to use a Credit Card or not, and we don't want to add a fee as a line item only to have them not need it.

Thanks for getting back to us here.  Although the option for automatic credit card fees isn't currently available in QuickBooks Online, you can submit a suggestion to our Development Team.  Customer recommendations are reviewed and considered for feature enhancements and product updates, to help improve your overall customer experience with QuickBooks Online.
