Hi rjfowler,
It's nice to see you in Community. Welcome back! Reconciling your accounts in QuickBooks Online ensures your books are balanced. The reconciliation process is vital. in keeping your books aligned with your real life bank and credit card accounts. Once a reconciliation is completed successfully, the closing balance should be automatically balanced with your monthly statement. I would be glad to provide more information, so you're on the right track with your work!
Making any changes to your closing bank balance after you've reconciled the account , can have a negative impact on other areas of your books. For this reason, it's recommended to unreconcile the account and start over, making sure the statement ending date and the ending balance are accurately entered before beginning the reconciliation. I suggest reaching out to an accounting professional, as they will have the ability to unreconcile the account for you, and ensure other areas of your books remain unaffected. If you don't have an accountant, we can help you locate a ProAdvisor in your local area.
If you have any other questions, feel free to reach back out. We would be happy to help!

Hi Eva2412,
Thanks for joining us here. Only QuickBooks Online Accountant users can unreconcile an account, as mentioned above. However, you can Undo or remove transactions from reconciliations. I also suggest reviewing this helpful guide to Fix issues at the end of a reconciliation in QuickBooks Online.
