I was trying to review the T4' and boxes 58-60 are not populated. Last year we had an update late February. are we getting the same this year??
Thanks
Neda, the 2021 T4s should not be populating anything for boxes 57-60. Those boxes are only for 2020 T4s.
Mike.
I also just confirmed with the CRA that these boxes do NOT need to be filled in for 2021.
According to the CRA website:
"Codes 57 to 60
For the 2020 tax year only , additional reporting requirements will apply to all employers, and will help the CRA validate payments under the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS), the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), and the Canada Emergency Student Benefit (CESB)."
How do you delete the $0.00 that is being populated in these boxes for 2021 T4's
Thank you for posting this, you are correct. 2022 T4's does not include extra reporting as per CRA website.
Agreed! Not helpful! The same thing is happening for me exactly. When you go into process T4's it gives us a message saying the update was done to include data in boxes 57-60, but when you review the T4's there are no amounts in those boxes.
How do you guys not test these things ahead of time?!?-
Please send out a fix like you did last year as soon as possible.
there is no need to fill in boxes 57-60 for year 2021. This was just for 2020. So you can file T4's. The confusion seems to be that we Are all getting the message that Quickbooks has upgraded t4's to include those boxes and it is filling in boxes with a 0 dollar amount.
This is so unhelpful. Your product should be up to date. Especially during t4 season.
Hi D Stapleton,
Thanks for joining in with us here. QuickBooks Online makes every effort to ensure that we are accurate and up to date in accordance with the CRA guidelines. As mentioned by others, the calculations for boxes 57-60 were only applicable in 2021 for the 2020 tax year. Please review the updated documents available on the CRA website to ensure you're on the right track with your work!
If you have any other questions, please reach back out. We'd love to help!
Not required for 2021. If you expand the link on CRA it's only for 2020
