How to cancel payroll check, calculation was wrong.

Net amount that Employee supposed to receive was wrong. I wanted to delete that created payroll CHQ and issue new one. But I cannot delete it now as before. When I pressed Delete buttom, system automatically made adjustments for Employee taxes but Cheque for Payment still in the system and Reports. How to fix it and why it'd became so complicated. Thank you.

I can help you cancel your created payroll check in QuickBooks Online (QBO) to ensure accurate calculations.

 

First, could you clarify whether you are referring to a direct deposit payroll check? If that's the case, please note that we cannot delete the check once it has been processed. In this situation, I recommend waiting for the payment to be received and coming to an internal agreement with your employee regarding the refund. QBO automatically adjusts for employee taxes, so this will help keep everything in order.

 

However, if you're talking about a regular paper check, you can delete it directly by following these steps:

 

  1. Under the Run payroll button, select Pay cheque list.
  2. Select the cheque to delete and click Delete.
  3. When prompted to confirm the action, select Yes or No.
