I have a payroll transaction that was entered in the wrong account. Is there any way I can fix it or does Quicken have to do it?

In QuickBooks Online, we can directly delete and recreate the transactions, sweetlady. Allow me to elaborate further.

If you're processing payroll using a paper cheque, we can remove the current entry and re-enter it into the appropriate account. This will help us maintain organized bookkeeping, simplifying our financial tracking and making it easier to identify any discrepancies or areas for improvement.

Here's how to delete it:

  1. Navigate to Payroll.
  2. Select Employees.
  3. Find and click the account where you've entered the account.
  4. Click the Paycheque list.
  5. Locate the transaction you want to delete.
  6. Use the dropdown menu and hit Delete.

However, if you're running a payroll using direct deposit, I recommend contacting our live support team so that they'll correct it for you.

On the other hand, if you're doing your payroll in Quicken, it's best to contact their support team, as they can assist you further.

Moreover, I'm adding this resource to help you how to run, print, and customize payroll reports in QuickBooks Online Payroll for future reference: Run payroll reports.

We are here to help you evaluate these options. If you need more details or support regarding your payroll transactions, please feel free to reach out through this communication channel. Thank you for considering this collaboration, and we look forward to helping you optimize your use of QuickBooks.
