How to I enter re-occurring round trips?

Hello btmckenney,

I love that you're looking to keep things as easy as possible with your data entry, and QuickBooks Self-Employed is built with that same goal in mind. I'd be happy to go over a couple of options for recording recurring trips in the program.

When working with QuickBooks Self-Employed's Trips feature, there are a couple of ways to enter your data: manually or automatically. Whichever of these two options you're using, it's still a fairly straightforward process to record multiple trips that are the same.

With the automatic mileage tracking option, your can set up QuickBooks Self-Employed with your phone or mobile device to track the trips for you. Afterwards, all it would take is reviewing the trips to make sure they're correct, then adding them to the program. Using this option would mean that all you'd have to do is make sure the automatic tracking is set up and then review the data later. Here's an article that explains more: Automatically track mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed

When you're manually tracking your trips and need to enter the same data as a previous trip, what you can do is take advantage of the Duplicate option. When using a browser, there should be a More button in the Options column that'll give you the chance to click Duplicate. In doing that, the program will create the trip again and you can edit it to the new details as needed. Here our article about manual tracking: Manually track mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed

If you're having trouble with any of this, I recommend connecting with the QuickBooks Self-Employed team beyond our community forum so that a member of our team can work with you to get back on track. Here's how to get in touch.

  1. Select the Assistant feature.
  2. Type and enter "talk to human" in the chat box.
  3. Follow the prompts.

If you'd like to leave feedback about the options available instead, type and enter "feedback" instead of "talk to human" for step 2 of the above directions.

Wishing you the best!
