Vacation accruals on PayStub

Hi Mangala Shetty,

I can understand the benefit of having vacation accrual hours appear on the paystubs.  After setting up the vacation pay, Quickbooks automatically accrues the amounts when pay cheques are created.  I'd be happy to go over a few possibilities in this situation.

I'd suggest checking how vacation is setup by following these steps:

1. From the Employee Centre, right click on the employee and select Edit Employee

2. In the Payroll Info, hit Vacation Pay

3. Enter the $ amount payable and $ amount used YTD

4. If you'd like QuickBooks to calculate and accrue vacation throughout the year, select Retain

5. To have it added to each pay cheque, choose Pay Every Period

6. The default value is 4% but you can edit this if needed

7. In the Earnings That Accrue Vacation, choose the appropriate Payroll Item with a checkmark in the Payroll Item column.

8. When finished, click OK

You can check the employee's profile to ensure the payroll item's set up to accrue, then create a test pay cheque and print a paystub.

In addition, the pay items you've created should show up but you may need to re-sort the list.  Here's how:

1. Close out of the employee profile

2. Select Lists from the top menu and open the Payroll Item List

3. Choose View from the toolbar and hit Re-Sort List

The program will re-sort the list and you should see the items you need.

If you need additional assistance or have any other questions, please reach back out.  Take care and enjoy the rest of your day!

Vacation accruals on PayStub

Hi Team,

Kindly let me know how to show the accrued hours of vacation remaining instead of the $ value.  Let me know if that is possible in QuickBooks.

Thanks,

Mangala
