Recommedations for Timesheet tracking app

I am looking for an app that will integrate with Quickbooks online.  I need to track hours to a specific estimate or invoice, to be billed at a later time.  I have looked at a few QuickBooks Time formally TSheets looks interesting.  Any suggestions?

Recommedations for Timesheet tracking app

Hi tesaccts1,

It's a pleasure to see you reaching out to Community for suggestions and recommendations for tracking time.  Having the ability to track hours on invoices is a great way to keep your billable expenses organized.  QuickBooks Online has the features you need that allow you to enter and track time by job and keep your billable expenses organized.   I'd be happy to provide the information you need to get started!

You can enter the job as a sub-customer in association with the customer you're invoicing.  Here's how to add a sub-customer:

1. Open Sales or Invoicing from the left menu and then select Customers

2. Click on New customer

3. Enter the appropriate information

4. Select the Is sub-customer checkbox

5. Choose the parent customer from the Enter parent customer dropdown ▼,

6. Hit Bill with parent

7. When finished, select Save and close

To bill customers you'll need to turn on billable time:

1. From Settings ⚙, open Account and Settings

2. Select Time

3. In the Timesheet section, select Edit

4. Turn on Allow time to be billable

5. Hit Save

Next, you'll record billable time to be added to an invoice.  Here's how:

1. Select Time Entries from the Time menu

2. Click on Add Time, and choose the name you’re adding time for

3. Using the dropdown ▼ adjust the date range if necessary by choosing This weekLast week, or Custom.  Then select the day you’re entering time for

4. Add the duration of hours worked, or turn on the Start/end times switch to enter a start time and end time

5. Choose Add work details, select the Customer/Project dropdown ▼ and choose your customer or project.

6. Turn on the Billable (/hr) switch to make the timesheet billable

7. Add notes or any other options

8. When finished, hit Done and then Save and Close.

For your reference, here's an article to assist with entering billable time by job in QuickBooks Online and how to track income, costs and profitability by project.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out.  We'd be glad to help!
