Using quickbooks Payroll direct deposit functions, do we have the option to allocate total payroll tax payment to the accounting category that each employee belongs?

Yes, you can allocate total payroll tax payment to the accounting category for each employee. Let's update the Accounting setup in your QBO company to accomplish the task.

 

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon to select Payroll Settings.

  2. On the Preferences page, click on the Accounting link to view the categories used to track for each employee.

  3. In the Tax Expense Accounts section, mark the radio button for I use different accounts for different groups of employees.

  4. From the drop-down, choose the correct account you want to use for your workers.
  5. Click on the OK button and then type in the date when you want the program to update the transactions.

  6. Hit the OK button to apply the changes.
