Why the new Stat pay - average daily wage pay type stated hours are insurable but no space to enter hour?

I just checked my QBO, the issue is still not fixed. At least can you please verify if some one from QBO is looking into it?

Hi there,

Thanks for your report. I logged in my QBO, clicked "help"-contact us-live chat. The rep will report this to the engineer and hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Be aware using the stat pay - average daily wage.  In the past when you put in the employees stat pay hours it would reduce the salary hours by the same amount.  Now when using the average daily wage it says in a pop up that can easily be missed - "Be sure to reduce the salary hours in the salary column to help ensure the pay is correct".  If you don't make the change the employee will get a nice little bonus.  This is such a bad product release.  Is there any user who thinks this is better?  Am I missing something of why this needed to be changed.

I did. I had to edit each one manually and calculate their rate manually as each employee has a different wage. Ended up staying late to correct this. Now I have to create a new stat pay option and enter each employee"s rate. Not impressed

Crazy how an update to something that was simple now creates all this extra work, frustration and no confidence in the system.  I have now created a spreadsheet to do calculations to double check my work and the math Quickbooks uses.  Also this has been mention by someone else but should be restated.  The YTD numbers on the paystubs will create further confusion.  Stat pay - hourly premium will now represent all past YTD stat pay even though, for me, those employees never received any hourly premium pay as they were all paid at regular rate just for the day off.

Do you think QBO will fix everything by Christmas (the next Stat holiday)?!?!? BTW, by fixing, I mean 1. Returning the Stat Pay column to be entered in hours and paid 1x (for those entitled to Stat Pay but did not work on Stat). 2. Add a Stat Pay premium column to be entered in hours and paid 1.5x (for those who worked Stat Holiday and is entitled to 1.5x pay). 3. This might be too difficult for QBO to change back, but for Salaried employees, prior to QBO's change/mess, when I entered their Stat hours, the Salary decreased proportionately, so their net pay is always the same. Now, anything entered under Stat hours get 1.5x bonus payment. Good thing I noticed before finalizing payroll for the Remembrance Day stat, so I did NOT enter anything under Stat. I think QBO people who try to "improve" payroll should have varied experiences in Human Resources, dealing with Salaried, hourly, and part-time employees with timesheets!
