I have a client that would like to have a reminder of when payables are coming due. Is there a way to set up reminders or a place like in Sage 50 that has a calendar view of bills coming due?

Setting reminders can give you and your client the peace of mind you need since reminders make it easy to stay on top of imminent payments. I'd be glad to show you how to create a reminder before the bill is due.
When creating a bill, you can use the reminder template to get an alert in QBO when the transaction is due. This feature gives you an option to set the date days before the transaction date and its interval.

You have offered a resolution for recurring bill payments,, this really doesn't help as most bills are not recurring,, how hard can it be to see a calendar of bill due dates, or popups or something??? this is a huge part of bookkeeping !!!!
