Creating a rule that has HST/Tax applied

I created a post 3 years ago about this and it still hasn't been added as a feature. This is the link the my old post. Any reason why this hasn't been added??! Thanks!

Creating a rule that has HST/Tax applied

Hi shanepikelin,

Thanks for reaching out to us here.  I appreciate you submitting a suggestion to the QuickBooks Development team.  Product updates and feature enhancements are based on customer recommendations.  These are prioritized based on demand.  With that being said, all recommendations are greatly appreciated, in assisting with improving your overall customer experience.  However, some suggestions may take longer, but they are not overlooked.

With regards to having the ability to create a rule with sales tax rates, I can understand the benefit of having these set by default in your books.  QuickBooks Self employed does have some limitations in this area.  However, QuickBooks Online provides the ability to set default tax rates to your products and services, so you don't have to enter them manually on your transactions.  I suggest considering moving your data to QuickBooks Online, so you can enjoy the many valuable and time saving features, that make your daily bookkeeping goals a breeze.  Click here to learn how!

If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach back out.  We would be happy to help!
