Hello,
I bought a mobile device and a case with my personal name for my company in separate transactions via my business credit card.
Where to categorize the device and its case?
I know some deprecation rate will be added to the device and its case. So, I am not sure which category is suitable for this case.
Any help on this issue would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello James,
Thank you for your reply.
I do inform my accountant about these kind of transactions when they work on my year end. Meanwhile, I am looking for a way to record it correctly.
I found Expense/Phone/Deprecation and categorized them under this category but I am not sure if this is the right category. Please let me know if it is not a proper category. Thank you.
I know how to set the phone up as a fixed asset, but how do I categorize the insurance purchased on a new phone?
Hi there JT60,
Thanks for reaching out about your phone purchase. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to assist you in keeping track of sales and expenses so you know the profitability of your company. I can point you in the right direction for assistance with this transaction.
To know how you should be entering this transaction =, I recommend reaching out to your accountant. Their expertise will be able to guide you in which transaction type to choose, as well as which account to affect for your books to be well balanced. You can invite your accountant to your QuickBooks Online account by going to the My Accountant tab, then entering their contact information. You can also find an accountant near you that has experience using QuickBooks Software using the FInd a pro to help button in that section.
