Based on what you've described, I feel you'd benefit more by contacting our support team outside of the Community as we would need a bit more information from you. Hopefully I understand what you are trying to do:

 

If you are paying for something using a credit card and that credit card is not linked to QB (to automatically pulldown your monthly  transactions) you record the payment made on that credit card by creating an entry to record the payment made.

Pay Down Credit Card  

 

Enter the details of the payment and SAVE. 

 

Ensure you have selected the correct credit card and the account that was used to pay (for instance your CAD Bank).
