One QBO account is for one company file. You may manage branches/divisions by utilizing the Class/Location feature available in QBO Plus. Otherwise you should open a new account.

Otherwise, consider using QB Desktop to manage multiple company files with a one time license. Deploy a private cloud if required to access your data by internet connection.
Hi userbenfompa,
This is a great question, and I'd like to take a moment to clarify the options that have already been mentioned on this thread. I can absolutely see the use of being able to use your QuickBooks Online app for more than one company, and I can help by going over how this works.
The QuickBooks Online app, like the browser, is a login portal for you to access your QuickBooks Online account or accounts. This means that you can use the app to access more than one company by either using the option to Switch Company through the settings menu or by logging out and logging in if the login details are different.
If you're wondering if a QuickBooks Online subscription gives you the opportunity to create more than one company with a single subscription, what's been mentioned already is correct: one subscription manages one company. Unlike QuickBooks Desktop, there isn't a way to create multiple company files under a single subscription.
Like I said, it is possible to have multiple companies using the same login details though. All you need to do when you create a new account via qbo.ca's Plans & Pricing page is select Already have an Intuit account? Sign In on the page after you choose your plan. Then you can enter the same login details as before to link the accounts and be able to switch between them.
QuickBooks Desktop is certainly an alternative you can consider. You can have a subscription or one-time purchase license, both of which allow you to have more than one company file at a time. Since that version of the program is installed on a computer, to get the versatility of the cloud, you can consider hosting. There wouldn't, however, be an app option for your mobile device. Here are a few pages that go over these options.
