I'm happy to hear that you use QuickBooks as a daily part of running your business. We love hearing from customers like you and want to ensure that we're providing you with a product that meets your needs. That's why you see the new Tags feature in the Transactions menu. Our product development team is always working on implementing features that are requested by our users, so when you see them crop up in the program, that's why. I do see what you're saying though, and I know that this feature isn't necessary for all users. Let me give you a hand.
While there isn't a way to turn the Tags feature off if you're seeing it as a new option within the Transactions or Banking menu, if you choose not to set up tags, you shouldn't notice a difference in the program aside from the new feature page and the new field on your transactions.
