My client connected several bank accounts in QB to her TD bank accounts. Now she wants to add her TD line of credit. Do you set that up as a bank account, or a credit card account. In either case, QB will not offer TD when we try to connect that account. "Managing the TD connection" does not allow us to add that account. What do we do?
Hi TomManley,
Welcome to Community! It's great to hear that your client is utilizing the banking function to easily update their transactions from TD and keep their records up to date. In QuickBooks Online linking the accounts can be done without complication. However, in this situation you wouldn't be able to link a line of credit. However, you can create a new account in the chart of accounts and then manually upload transactions in csv format. I'd recommend reaching out to an associate for their insight on setting up the account to ensure the transactions hit the books correctly.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach back out. We'd be glad to help!
Thank you for the information. Aside from this specific case of a line of credit, I do not see the way to link a new bank or credit card account with the same bank where I already have other accounts linked. QB will not display that bank name, and "Manage Connections" will not allow me to create a new connection.
Hi there TomManley,
In order to add a new connection for other accounts with the same bank you've already connected, navigate ti the Banking tab, then click the Link account option. Type the name of the bank in question, then enter your login info. Once you have an account connected to QuickBooks, it doesn't remove the option to connect more accounts with the same financial institution. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out here.
