Backup Error - Employee SIN

I am trying to create a backup and every time I start, it says there is an error with an employee SIN and we don't even do payroll with Quickbooks. The employee is from 10 years ago and when I try to go into the employee information, it closes the entire program.

Any idea how to fix this?

Backup Error - Employee SIN

Hi Boutonsdor.

Being able to back up your company file is a great way to ensure you can always restore it if anything ever happened. I'd be happy to help you get your company file backed up again.

Based on your explanation it sounds like there is corrupted data in your employee centre that is causing it to crash whenever you try to open it. When this happens there are a few things that can be attempted to fix it. First would be to run verify and rebuild until it either finds no issues or until the same error keeps popping up. You can run verify by going to File>Utilities>Verify Data and to run rebuild by going to File>Utilities>Rebuild Data. If the same error keeps showing up and rebuild is unable to fix it you can also run File Doctor on it.

Should both of those options still not work and QuickBooks Keeps crashing whenever you open your employee centre I recommend following the steps in this article. You can also contact our support team if those steps don't work and they can send it off to our data service team to get rid of the corrupted data. You can reach them using the phone number in this link.

Have a great one!

@boutonsdor

Chat Support and ask Data Service to fix it. Otherwise, you have to purchase a 3rd party file repair service.
