Hi. We have a US-based company that has been set up in Canadian QBO. However, we need to move the company over to US QBO. The company has not used any payroll functions in QB.
Is there a simple way to get the company's data into US QBO?
Hi invictus-bk,
I'm happy to see you reaching out to Community. QuickBooks Online provides the option for you to import or export your information from one account to another. Ensuring the information is transferred seamlessly is something I can help you with.
To export your data, follow these steps:
1. Click on the Gear ⚙ icon in the top right of your account
2. Select Export Data
3. On the Reports tab, set the date range
4. Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by toggling the slider
5. Hit Export to Excel
For additional items that aren't included in the list, please refer to this article to learn more about exporting data, reports and lists from QuickBooks Online.
Once you've exported your information, I recommend cancelling the account to prevent future billing. Here's how:
1. From the Gear icon, select Account and Settings and then Billing and Subscription.
2. Hit Cancel and follow the prompts.
Prior to transferring the data to your new account, I suggest reviewing this article with common questions about importing data to prevent any errors.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach back out. We're happy to assist!
The simple way is purchasing a 3rd party migration service. Another option, open a new blank QBO US version.

then utilize a migration tool
