Hi HeatherA,
Welcome to the QuickBooks community! Thanks for your interest in condensing your QuickBooks Enterprise file. I know a tool like that would be useful, especially if you have a lot of data in your company file. The condense data utility is currently available for our US counterparts, but not yet in Canada. I recommend leaving feedback about this for our product development team by going to the Help menu in the top toolbar and choosing Send Feedback Online.
In the meantime, you can consider creating a new company file and exporting lists and other information from your old file to import into the new one. That way you're not completely beginning from scratch and can enter in account starting balances and other important information such as that. Learn more about import and export options in our Import/export overview article.
Feel free to drop by again. We're always happy to answer customer questions. :)
Absolutely ridiculous that this isn't available in Canadian installations.
Hello DCA2,
I hear what you're saying and appreciate how useful it would be to have this feature for the Canadian version of QuickBooks Desktop. As we're constantly looking to develop and evolve what the program can do, having feedback such as yours helps us learn what you're looking for in the product. I assure you the feedback option is a great way to ensure your voice is heard in these matters. Many suggestions left in this way have gone on to become staple features in the program. Please don't hesitate to follow the steps I gave in my original response to let us know what you'd like to see!
Consider purchasing a 3rd party condense service.
That's fine, but QB used to do this in the past. I don't know why they are doing it only for the US versions of QB and not Canada. We pay a lot for our monthly subscription, why do we still need to layout for 3rd party software?
I believe it is all about market demand. The same reason why company only offers QB Mac edition, conversion tool from Sage/PT, conversion tool from QBO to QBD, etc for US version.
Anyway, you can consider switching to QB Desktop CA version for a one-time license.
We have a 10-user QB Enterprise contract, we process 15 restaurant accounts and 7 corporate accounts. it should be easy!
Heather,
Did anyone ever get back to you on the condense services. I agree that Canadian version should also have access to condensing services. I read on the US version, all it does is remove the audit trail which is important but if you have reviewed everything and are comfortable with what staff has done in the past, then this should be an easy task to then get the condensing done without deleting any old information. I wish this was a feature in the 2020/2021 versions.

I was just wondering if anyone from Canada, has used a third party to condense their file. I am just looking for any feed back on their experience. I am a little hesitant to manipulate our data file. Good and bad feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks for your help.
Contact us in private and we may help to condense your file.
I know you post was awhile ago... I was wondering if you found a solution. We are in the same situation and QBDataServies was not able to help us. Our file exceeds the max target of 750,000. We tried a 3rd party they too were not able to help.. the uploaded the chart of accounts but no data.
If you could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.
